Louis XV style castle cabinet in painted oak. Late 18th / early 19th century. A significant amount of sculptural work was carried out on this control cabinet. A double register is used for the decoration, that of the Louis XV style and some attributes of the Louis XVI style. The upper and lower crosspieces display an asymmetrical composition made of scrolls, shells, foliage and flowers. The cornice is composed of a large palmette in its center bordered by scrolls and leafy scrolls, flowers under the molding. The front uprights are rounded and recessed. They are sculpted at the top and in the middle with flower falls. They end with leafy scrolls and scrolled feet (note the grafts on the feet that are not visible). The double-framed doors receive a row of heart spokes and a row of oves. The top of the doors as well as the middle crosspieces are sculpted with shells, leafy scrolls and flowers. The sides are composed of three molded panels. The interior consists of three shelves, one of which has two drawers. The lock with its original key is functional. The cabinet has been re-lacquered and patinated in gray. It is decorated with a light gray re-champi to the moldings and sculptures.
