Rare talking pedestal table signed E.Gallé on three turned legs in stained beech.
Decorated with pansy flowers and the motto "Plus penser que dire" ("More to think than to say") pyrographed in an inlaid band, followed by the
signature E. G. and cross of Lorraine.
This phrase, taken from a poem by Charles d'Orléans (1394 - 1465), is the motto of the town of BAR LE DUC.
This lovely pedestal table is in very good condition; it has a small burn on the right-hand top, but this does not alter its charm,
