    Small Napoleon III kidney-shaped coffee table, opening with a richly ornamented lid revealing a small storage space lined with a floral fabric. This small piece of furniture has a blackened wooden structure decorated on all sides with marquetry of thuya burl and stained wood. The belt with its lively contours is decorated with inlays of thuya burl forming elegant compositions. On the top, the lid is fitted with an oval painted porcelain plaque. A bucolic scene is offered to us depicting a bird with its wings spread, perched on spring flowers. The marquetry work surrounding this work is remarkable thanks to numerous interlacings and arabesques. An openwork gallery in gilded bronze follows the contours of this atypically shaped top. This table rests on four concave legs joined by a kidney-shaped spacer tablet in their center and widely flared at the bottom. This spacer tablet also benefits from rich inlays of precious wood.
