By Kohn, item no. 958
Three Viennese Secession "gigognes" in perfect condition, sober and elegant and certainly rarely produced, we can't find any "photo" representation in specialized literature and works. The catalogs are our salvation!
Here they are in a version with two shades of shellac, one soft and translucent "bronze" green for the base, which we've been able to preserve in its original state; the other is American mahogany for the tops, which have been revived with organic shellak - we've supplied a palette of Kohn's shades circa 1905 in PJ.
In the decor of these three nesting tables, we find moldings on the connecting bars of the legs that are of the same profile as those on Otto Wagner's armchair N°412 , a creation of 1905 .
