    This large and highly decorative carved oak center table, a "hunting table" style, richly decorated in the Rocaille style, can be placed in a living room or a large hallway. This fretwork model exhibits elegant lines and balance, a remarkable carving quality that demonstrates true craftsmanship, with intricately crafted motifs: shells, acanthus leaves, small flowers, foliage, and plant scrolls are finely executed here, in a highly animated and decorative composition typical of the Rocaille ornamentation of the first half of the 18th century.
     
     
     The strongly curved apron rails and the well-arched legs finished with scrolls highlight the attention to every detail. The entire piece is painted in a soft shade with a beautiful patina, which reveals the grain of the oak and enhances the sculpture's volume.
     
     
     
    This table is topped with its period marble, a thick, molded breccia, perfectly fitted to its top. The marble has undergone an earlier restoration (a crack was glued back together with reinforcement), which is very subtle and does not affect the aesthetics or solidity of the whole.
