    Made of carved and gilded wood, this alabaster-topped table is highly decorative, elaborately carved on all sides. The rich, finely sculpted ornamentation echoes the repertoire of classicism found in the reign of Louis XIV, but also in the last third of the 18th century under Louis XVI, with numerous motifs such as inverted Ionic and Corinthian capitals, tracery, large shells, C-shaped scrolls, acanthus leaves, water leaves and culottes.

    Fine quality piece of furniture dating from the second half of the 19th century, Napoleon III period, original gilding with patina and some wear, the alabaster top is period, formerly restored in a very discreet way, it is an alabaster from the Fauld mines in Staffordshire (England).
