Louis XV worker in rosewood and rosewood marquetry, made in a Parisian workshop in the mid-19th century.
This rare piece of furniture has a top rich with arabesques and rosewood scrolls, inlaid in a rosewood veneer arranged in butterfly wings. The center is embellished with a light wood marquetry adding contrast and refinement to the whole.
This top opens with two chiseled brass hinges and is held by an original compass also on the right. We notice a lock with two hooks in perfect working order accompanied by a sculpted key. A mirror surrounded by colored rods is framed in rosewood.
Inside this worker is a rosewood sliding drawer, accompanied by a box with three compartments. Once pulled we discover a rosewood interior arranged in four sheets.
The front of the drawer, with movement and concave, is inlaid with rosewood and rosewood forming beautiful arabesques.
Below this piece of furniture, we discover a last drawer in the shape of a hopper in rosewood and rosewood belt.
Finally, this worker rests on four elegantly arched and curved humpback feet, ending in hooves. The two outer sides on a rosewood background are inlaid with rosewood.
Graceful and clever, this Louis XV worker will seduce you with its unique shape combining rich marquetry and elegance.
