Napoleon III furniture in Rio rosewood veneer, decorated with mother-of-pearl and bone marquetry, and topped with red Monjoi marble.
This piece of furniture opens with a door decorated with marquetry made of mother-of-pearl and bone representing a bird and butterflies twirling around sinuous branches. This floral scene is surrounded by bone fillets and then brass rods forming ogee moldings. The rosewood veneer is arranged like butterfly wings. At the corners in the upper part, we find mother-of-pearl compositions forming the heads of birds surrounded by leaves. The door also has a key, a chiseled bronze ribbon entry and an original working lock. On each side of this door, two recessed columns, turned and with fixed grooves, are decorated with brass rings at the top and bottom. This piece of furniture has projecting corners. The upper crosspiece is also decorated with a pearly floral arrangement arranged on a Rio rosewood quatrefoil. This piece of furniture is topped with red Montjoi marble with barely visible cracks.
Inside this piece of furniture has two adjustable shelves on racks.
