Solid chestnut wood pantry and drainer - Mid 19th century

Rare Drip Pantry with Height of Support, from the Brittany Region.
This piece of furniture is entirely made of solid chestnut wood.
In the upper part, it opens with a single door, revealing two Storage Spaces separated by a Mobile Shelf, placed on Fixed Brackets. The panel sees its Frame carved with Naïve Foliage and its Angles carved in Spandrels, thus drawing Shells. In its Center is represented a Face of profile, that of a Breton woman arranged of her Headdress of Yesteryear.
Below, this Provincial Furniture proposes a Drawer, 7 cm deep. Its facade presents the same foliated reliefs as those of the door.
The Drainer part, at the bottom, is made of three visible faces and in its corners, of Blackened Wood Spindles. These elements are in harmony with the small Ball feet of the front. The back legs are straight and unpainted.
The Hinges, the Entrance, the Lock and the Key of the door, as well as the Pull knob of the drawer are in Perfect working condition and Original.
Historical note, these pieces of furniture of the past, initially used to protect and preserve food, were mainly reserved for the peasants. Nevertheless, they benefited from an interesting Quality of Wood.
We will appreciate this typical Breton pantry for its reasonable dimensions and its versatility, which will offer a place in any place for a daily use.

Excellent condition after restoration in our workshop. Finish only waxed patina.
