Small Psyche chest of drawers, Restoration period - Early 19th century

Beautiful chest of drawers in Cuban mahogany veneer topped by a large psyche.
This piece of furniture, combining the refinement of a dressing table and the storage capacity of an elegant chest of drawers of the Restoration period, is composed of a drawer at the waist, then three large identical drawers. Each front has a mahogany burl veneer assembled in open book, highlighting the veining and deep colors of this rare wood species. On each drawer, we find a carved wood entrance and an original lock with its fitted key.
On each side, this chest of drawers has slightly rounded uprights with a recess.
On the lower part, a projecting plinth, molded and accompanied by a groove and a square, rests on two turned feet in the front part.
The top of this chest of drawers has a frame in solid mahogany with a mitered cut. The perimeter is accompanied by a molding in elongated half-round. In the center and in reserve, we find a white marble veined with gray. Finally, on each side and at the back, a wooden band ending in a molding rests on the top.
The large psyche is composed of an oval mirror with a slightly rounded solid mahogany frame and the original mercury glass, beveled.
On each side, two elements cut out in shape, whose bottom is constituted of a broad volute in low part refining and profiling towards the top in swan neck. Each has a bronze candle holder.
The mirror is articulated in the vertical direction and is blocked thanks to brass elements screwing on each side.
Finally, the interior of this psyche chest of drawers, restored by our workshop in the rules of art, has drawers whose sides and bottoms are in oak.
Its fine execution and intense color shades will delight connoisseurs looking for unique and charismatic furniture.
