Delightful little Empire-style piece of furniture in Cuban mahogany veneer, opening with a drawer and a door on the front and, exceptionally, another door on the back. It is topped with white Carrara marble. The drawer is notched at the waist to facilitate opening. Underneath, the door is fitted with a small bronze pull handle in the shape of a hand. On either side of the cabinet, a detached cylindrical column features a chased bronze capital at the top and an elaborate collar at the bottom. The whole rests on squared, crushed feet. A door at the back reveals a concealed storage space. This small piece of furniture has benefited from high-quality cabinetmaking, featuring superb mahogany highlights. It stands out for the elegance and finesse of its ornamentation. This period piece is the perfect size for a bedroom, living room or study.
