Who was Pierre Rosenau?

Pierre Rosenau was a French artist born in 1900, known for his mastery of marquetry. He worked in the 1920s and 1930s, a period characterized by Art Deco, an artistic movement known for its elegance and refinement.
Rosenau has created numerous works of art in wood marquetry, characterized by geometric patterns often inspired by nature, seascapes, trees and flowers.
Rosenau used selected exotic wood species to create interesting color and textural effects, and he was very adept at creating subtle shades and strong contrasts in his works.
