    Jacques-Antoine Leclerc (1744-1792):

Master cabinetmaker since September 29, 1779, he worked on rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine opposite rue des Barres, then in the cour de la Juiverie, near the Bastille moat.

His work is stamped J. A. LECLERC or J. A. LECLERE.

He uses Rosewood, Violetwood, Satiné, Mahogany, and Coromandel lacquer panels.

His stamp can be found on desks, chests of drawers, and various small pieces of furniture. The former Casimir-Périer collection included a pair of precious commodes in Coromandel lacquer, stamped with this mark.
