Important Vanity Unit / Washbasin in Cherry, “L’Hygiène Moderne Paris” – Early 20th Century

This piece of furniture, in solid cherry wood with oak interior, is topped with a yellow Breche du Benou marble, originating from the town of Bieille in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques. This reserve top is molded at the edge of a bec-de-corbin. This is equipped with a rotating porcelain basin, with drainage system, as well as two stainless steel "Maurice Herbeau" taps, which can be independently connected to hot and cold water. They are topped by a marble tablet, supported at the ends by two console elements. The apron, projecting and recessed in the central part, offers two side drawers. This set rests on two coffers on plinths. The one on the left opens with four identical drawers, with shell handles in silver metal. The one on the right consists of a door on knobs, equipped with a pull button and shaped with diagonally grooved slats. The interior offers an adjustable shelf since on racks.
The four uprights of the facade are fluted, and their upper parts, slightly projecting, are carved with acanthus leaves.
The sides consist of a large panel with flowerbeds.
