Walnut cabinet with oriental decoration in mother-of-pearl, wood and bone marquetry.
It opens with 2 doors and 9 drawers, with various compartments.

This medallion cabinet is typical of the work of Giuseppe Parvis: a great Italian cabinetmaker, he settled in Cairo in 1859 and drew inspiration from all the architectural and decorative elements he saw throughout Egypt to create his own style of Arabized furniture.
He quickly went on to furnish the finest Egyptian homes, then, thanks to his participation in Universal and International Expositions, conquered the European market.
The photos that can still be found in his store bear witness to the profusion of his creations; after the Mamluk taste, he drew his inspiration from the ornamentation and decoration characteristic of ancient Egypt.
