Cartonnier desk, Restoration - 1st part of the 19th century

Cardboard desk forming a mahogany and mahogany veneer secretary, topped with a sloping writing desk, a drawer, 5 boxes and a small inkwell drawer on the right side.
This narrow Mahogany cabinet is composed of a flap inclined to a height allowing writing while standing. This one is trimmed in deep green leather with cold vignette, gold vignette and gold central motif. This element discovering a storage space, is closed by an original hook lock with key in working order. On the right side, a square section folding drawer fitted with a brass button, reveals a space comprising two inkwells and a pen holder.
On the front, a burl mahogany veneer false drawer with a small protruding wand and a drawer below have inlaid brass entries and original locks in perfect working order. Opening this drawer releases a door on the right that holds the boxes.
This unique piece of furniture comes with 5 original boxes in a nuanced green tone with brass handles, a golden sticker and a label holder.
The sides of this furniture are made of a single part without joints or cracks. In the lower part, we find a plinth and small feet. The back of the cabinet and the inside of the drawers and the niche are made of oak.
Its dimensions and functionality provide many advantages to this bicentennial Cartonnier, which will also seduce you with its large original storage.
