French Charles X display cabinet in precious exotic woods with maple fillet inserts.

The front part is composed of a glass door in the shape of a glove box richly inlaid with a plant motif. In the underlying part there is a large drawer also inlaid with the original key and lock of the time.

The shelves and interiors are in solid maple, synonymous with high quality.

Historical notes: Charles X's preferred decorations were more delicate than the ornaments of the Empire style, with a tendency to soften and refine the shapes. Comfort became an essential aspect to look at, while the grandeur typical of Empire furniture was put aside...
