    The lower part features a sliding table in red leather with a central motif, a gilded cold-finish vignette.
    This table opens with two drawers, with fronts embellished with molded baguettes, fitted with original functional locks with escutcheons and keys.
    It rests on four turned legs with fluted shafts ending in swivel feet.
    The base is joined by two concave lateral struts linked by a central bar for stability and strength.
    The glazed upper section features a door with a protruding molding, darkened with beveled clear glass, and two small drawers carved in the same spirit with locks, escutcheons and keys.
    The interior features two modular mahogany shelves mounted on racks.
    The projecting uprights are half-columns.
    The top of this "chapeau de gendarme" cabinet is molded and embellished with spinning tops.
    The upper and lower elements are joined by an iron plate, creating an airy work space with a molded panel.
    The drawer interiors are also in mahogany.
    This rare little showcase desk is sure to appeal to lovers of original, antique furniture.
