Elegant Louis XVI sloping desk in solid walnut and country wood veneer: walnut, acacia and yellow wood. This geometric marquetry formed of diamonds appears as a succession of perfectly proportioned cubes, on the sides, the top and the inclined plane. This flap opens with a key with original lock in working order. Once unfolded, it is held by two iron calipers allowing perfect stability. The writing area is lined with beautiful leather embellished with a cold stamp, golden vignettes and central motif. The walnut and oak interior features a sliding lid in the center, revealing a secret storage space. Six small drawers with lens buttons and a two-row locker complete the set.
On the belt, this remarkable piece of furniture has a false drawer in the center and four drawers on the sides with identical inlaid fronts. Two of the drawers have an original working lock and key.
This slope desk rests on four lightly sheathed solid walnut legs ending in a brass shoe.
