Magnificent louis XV style bureau d'apparat in precious wood marquetry with floral decoration, made in a Parisian cabinetmaker's workshop in the 19th century.
Its curved top reveals exceptional marquetry work in rosewood, rosewood and native woods, with a magnificent central floral motif framed by scrolls on a rosewood background. This middle desk is encircled by a gilded bronze gadrooned moulding with chased carvings at the corners. The curved belt of this desk features a large drawer concealed in the front, decorated with foliage and florets. It stands on curved legs enhanced at the top by an ormolu corner finial depicting a bust of a woman. The lower part features bronze ornamentation in the form of a lion's claw hoof. Completely restored, this is a unique piece that draws the eye with its presence.
