Very Elegant and Refined Furniture, Stamped by the Great Cabinetmaker PIERRE DENIZOT (Circa 1715 - 1782)

Pierre Denizot (Died May 28, 1782) - Carpenter-cabinetmaker. Paris. Master on August 1, 1740. He ran a business on rue Neuve-Saint-Roch and ranked among the first manufacturers in the capital. Pierre Denizot is the cabinetmaker of the Count of Artois.
Son of the cabinetmaker and mercer Jacques Denizot, Pierre Denizot worked in his father's workshop, and although having obtained his master's degrees in 1740, did not have them registered until 1760, upon the death of his father. It was only at this moment that he put his personal stamp on his works.
He established his business on Rue Neuve-Saint-Roch, worked on behalf of his colleague Léonard Boudin and received royal and princely orders for the castles of Saint-Germain-en-Laye and Maisons-Lafitte.
From 1764 to 1766, he was a sworn accountant for his corporation and became, from 1776, the official supplier to the Count of Artois to whom he delivered all kinds of furniture, both luxury and ordinary.
He possessed great technical skill and produced works mainly in the Louis XV or Transition style. Very few pieces of Louis XVI furniture actually leave his workshops. His creations are mainly marked with geometric motifs, circles, squares, diamonds or flower and trophy motifs, drawn with rigor. It was while carrying out an order placed by one of his clients, Monsieur, Count of Provence, that Pierre Denizot died in his workshop in 1782. (18th century furniture and cabinetmaker)

Work from the Louis XVI Period, Around 1780, 18th Century.
