Magnificent mahogany desk fitted with a mahogany burl branch ogee flap forming a writing desk. This flap can be unlocked by a key in the upper part which also allows the simultaneous opening of the four drawers of this cabinet.
Once opened we discover an important space for work. The flap frame is made of mahogany trimmed with dark green leather, the rim of which has a golden vignette with patterns at the corners. At the back, a niche is surrounded by a drawer on the left, illustrating two, and on the right two other light wood drawers with mahogany knobs.
The low unit of this desk also has two large mahogany burl drawers on the front. One of them has a sliding zipper and four small lockers.
This refined desk rests on four pretty gadrooned feet in solid mahogany.
The upper part is made up of two identical drawers in the same spirit as the lower part. A lightly molded top from which two turned columns lead off on the front, supporting a top with an openwork gallery in cut mahogany forming arabesques.
The four drawers and the flap of this desk are locked by a unique system, patented by Cabinetmakers Daubet and Dulmarest, officiating in Lyon in the mid-19th century.
This rare piece of furniture of the most beautiful effect and in perfect condition, will satisfy lovers of unique furniture benefiting from quality old manufacture.
