Large Mahogany Flat Desk In The Louis XVI Style Mailfert
Important and Elegant Mahogany Flat Desk in the Louis XVI Style, Attributed to La Maison Mailfert Opening by Three Drawers in Front and Resting on Four Sheathed Feet Finished by a Gilded Brass Sabot.
Its top is gilded with a gilded Brass Moulding Box and trimmed with a Black Leather Top gilded with Petit Fer, in Excellent Condition.
Rich ornamentation in gilt bronze such as lock escutcheons, drawer frames and side panels. It has two side pulls also trimmed in Black Gilt Leather with Iron. Has two keys.
This desk is made of Mahogany with a very high quality Stamp Varnish finish. In view of all these criteria, we can attribute it to the Mailfert House.
