Bonheur-du-Jour in mahogany, Louis XVI style - Mid 19th century

Piece of furniture of lady known as " Bonheur-du-jour " in the style Louis XVI, in solid mahogany and mahogany veneer.
Its belt is equipped with a single drawer whose front is surrounded by a brass quarter round. Two Louis XVI brass handles frame an authentic lock in working order, with an oval bronze entrance topped by a Louis XVI knot. On each side, a brass inlay forming a rhombus brings a touch of originality to this property. On top, two pulls with "lens" buttons allow the writing part to be held in place, which unfolds thanks to hinges. We discover an interior part darkened by a green leather almond with cold vignette, golden vignette and angles with golden patterns too.
The whole rests on four sheathed feet ending in a brass shoe with a high part surrounded, in projection, by a brass moulding.
This refined piece of furniture benefits from a high element composed of two drawers, also with recess, provided with a frame with brass half-round and lens knob.
Above, two small framed doors in solid mahogany are glazed on discreet brass knobs. The right door closes on the left side with a small brass cover. We find an original lock with key in working condition decorated with a beaded Louis XVI entrance.
The uprights on each side are inlaid with brass fillets and the top, in a single plank, has a brass quarter round surround.
Harmonious and elegant, this small quality piece of furniture with gilded ornaments, will delight by its functionality and its ideal dimensions.
