Antique English walnut root desk with carved leather top.

The rectangular top has a walnut briar border with a British green leather in the centre carved with 24 carat gold leaf.

The under-counter band contains a large drawer with original key and crest and signed lock

The legs are of the classic cabriolet shape joined by a finely carved crosspiece and resting on contemporary bronze casters.

Condition: Restored by our master craftsmen using traditional shellac and an artisanal alcohol method.

Provenance: 19th century England.
