Antique French Napoleon III desk in fine exotic wood with finely chiseled gilt bronze application.
The top has an original period 24 carat gold chiseled leather covering surrounded by a gilt bronze border.
The front is punctuated by five drawers decorated with leaf-patterned gilt bronze handles and vents.
The sides are surrounded like the front by leaf-patterned bronze profiles with a large mask in the center.
The opposite face appears to be a mirror image of the main face.
The interiors appear to be made of oak wood.
Condition: Restored by our master craftsmen with traditional shellac and an artisanal alcohol method.
Provenance: 19th century France.
