Small Walnut Salon Table, Restoration period - Early 19th century

Charming little table from the Restoration period, highlighted with subtlety by the nuances of walnut.
The top is composed of 4 elements of walnut heart veneer, technique called "Four Leaves".
The belt opens in front of 2 drawers, spaced by a half-round wooden strip. Their fronts are made of falling and following wire veneer. They lock with keys, which accompany the original locks in perfect working order. The interior of the first one has 2 large and 2 small compartments, as well as an important central space. The second one is not compartmentalized, so it offers a more consequent storage possibility.
On each side and at the back of the belt, we find the extension of the half-round wooden strip previously mentioned, which separates 2 pieces of walnut veneer.
The ensemble rests on feet in the shape of a "Lyre", formed by 2 elements in solid walnut with volutes that meet, ending in an elegant cut-out. A lightly shaped scrollwork embellishes the lower part of the base, which is itself reinforced by a spacer, offering strength and stability to this furniture.
Functional and harmonious, this small table will seduce you with its careful finishing and the contrasting grain of the Walnut.
