Louis XVI style mahogany bookcase, trimmed with brass and topped with Carrara marble.
The front opens onto two solid mahogany framed glass doors, mitered at the corners. At the bottom, each door is darkened with a solid mahogany panel.
The panels and glass panes are highlighted by brass strips forming doucine moldings. Between the doors is a slightly rounded brass gasket.
Both doors are closed by a brass lock on the right-hand door, accompanied by a brass escutcheon with working key.
After opening, we discover the interior, composed of four shelves on racks, with half-round brass-covered edges.
The sides of this bookcase feature an attached half-column with four stopped flutes.
The whole rests on four "toupie" feet adorned with a brass collar and ending in a sabot foot.
The sides of the bookcase are composed of two panels surrounded by brass doucine strips and separated by a thin crosspiece.
The top of this bookcase is made of lightly veined white Carrara marble, surrounded by an openwork brass gallery with overhangs.
This Louis XVI bookcase is unique in the quality of its wood and craftsmanship, making it a rare piece of furniture that seduces with its elegance and clean lines.
