Mahogany and mahogany veneer display case opening with a darkened door two-thirds of the way up with a glass pane highlighted by an elaborate baguette.
The door is fitted with an original working lock and key. The lower part of the door features a Martin varnish panel depicting a gallant scene with lovers watching a bird fly out of its cage. This decoration is also surrounded by brass rods forming a frame.
The uprights of this display case are trimmed at the top and bottom with bronze falls, carved with flowers, leaves and arabesques.
The slightly curved legs end in openwork sabots decorated with acanthus leaves.
The sides, in the same spirit as the front, are concave and painted with animal scenes featuring birds.
The top is crowned with pink marble from the Pyrenees, matching the shape of the piece, and surrounded by an openwork gallery with balusters, supported by a scalloped and beaded drapery.
The interior, clad in raspberry-tinted silk, features three fixed shelves.
