This large solid mahogany and veneered bookcase opens with two mitered-framed glass doors in moiré mahogany veneer underlined by molded baguettes with brass grooves.
These openings are fitted with an original functional lock with ribbon and key entry.
Underneath, the cabinet features a drawer on the bottom rail with a half-round molding with square, an authentic lock, a similar entrance and two bronze drop handles.
The projecting uprights are clad with two attached solid mahogany columns, with stopped flutes that profile the height of the cabinet.
The top crosspiece is carved in the same spirit, with molding and a central undercut.
The cornice with gradient molding follows the lines of this bookcase.
The mitered sides are each trimmed with a moiré mahogany panel.
The ensemble rests on four toupie feet with brass collars and rings.
The interior features four shelves on racks, whose edges are refined by small grooves.
