Large Louis XVI mahogany armoire vitrine or library, late 18th century. Made in Paris from oak, our cabinet is not stamped. However, the style is strongly reminiscent of the work of Jean Baptiste Vassou, who is a likely source of attribution.

Mahogany veneer, elegant chased and gilded bronze trim (corner disks and sabots). Large model with fluted pilasters and cornice. Our display bookcase opens with 2 large doors that have retained their original blown-glass panes.
A highly polished production, a change from the classic models with rounded fluted jambs. Ideal for use as a bookcase to display beautiful bindings or a collection of porcelain.

Good overall condition, old varnish cleaned and revived by our cabinetmaker. The cabinet looks good.
