Large bookcase in solid mahogany and veneer, opening with three doors.
These doors are composed, on three quarters of their surfaces, of beveled glass, rounded at the ends or in their corners, and underlined by bronze moldings. The central door, with a projection, is locked, and it is also wider than the two lateral doors, which are simply equipped with pretty, worked pull handles. The upper parts of these three doors are decorated with bronze volutes and rosettes. In the lower part, one can admire the beautiful marquetry on solid panels, where harps, mandolins, chalemies and bells dominate in the middle of foliage and flowers. These scenes are also highlighted by a chased and pearled bronze frame.
The interior of this piece of furniture is partitioned and equipped with racks. Its fifteen shelves are thus perfectly modular.
The molded cornice of this bookcase is decorated with a frieze of oves, and overhangs a long bronze scroll on the central part.
The front posts of this piece of furniture are fluted, decorated at the top and bottom with finely worked asparagus, and the sides repeat the composition of the right and left doors.
The whole piece rests on six sheathed feet, with brass collars and shoes, and can be completely dismantled by a simple system of screws.
Obviously we will retain the finesse of this bookcase as a whole, and in particular the quality of its marquetry, in which the musical theme is illustrated with undeniable precision.
