Important Library, Napoleon III Period - Mid 19th Century

Large and elegant Napoleon III bookcase in richly ornamented blackened pear wood, opening with three doors and fitted with five shelves.
This piece of furniture has a front central door and two narrower side doors. These doors feature a pane surrounded by a scalloped chiseled bronze rod that benefits from Greek corner angles. In the lower part, they are fitted with a panel with floral motifs inlaid in chiseled brass representing volutes and foliage with delicate curves. The panels are also surrounded by a sculpted bronze rod and several brass fillets. In the upper and lateral part of the central door, two large bronze sculptures representing a woman's face surrounded by volutes decorate this library.
The locks are original and in perfect working order.
Inside this Napoleon III furniture we find five oak shelves with blackened pear wood front embellished with two brass nets.
On the sides of this library, quarter-circle uprights benefit in the upper part of large bronze drops representing foliage and Louis XVI knots. Below, four grooves are embellished with brass asparagus.
At the top, a pediment decorated with brass inlays with arabesque motifs is surmounted by a cornice composed of moldings and sculpted bronze elements.
The base consists of a wide plinth with stepped angles, inlaid with brass threads, also surmounted by a bronze rod on a projecting field.
The set rests on four spinner feet at the front and two at the rear, with scalloped bronze bezels.
Graceful and refined, this large 19th century library will delight you with the finesse of its ornamentation and its unique dimensions.
