Superb display case in solid walnut, molded, ribbed, and finely carved with stylized fern decoration. It opens with a high niche and a glass door. The back features cube-shaped mahogany marquetry. The interior has a glass shelf and a lower niche. The uprights are carved in high relief on the edges, the base features bulbous projections illustrating the extraction of the root, and the panels are veneered with burl maple. Gilt bronze lock and key, beveled glass. Remarkable cabinetmaking quality!
