Charming small middle desk in walnut veneer, composed in the lower part of four drawers of identical dimensions. Its drawers, located on the right side, open using turned wooden pull buttons. They close using an original lock with an attached and adjusted key, in working order. An entry with brass thread highlights the passage of each key. Each of these drawers has mahogany sides and bottoms. On the left side, the front is covered with four false drawers in the same spirit as their counterparts. This furniture rests on four flat feet with casters, allowing easy movement to the room of your choice.
This piece of furniture has an inclined flap in the upper part, the perimeter of which is decorated with lemon tree fillets. At the corners of this flap, beautiful marquetry in the Charles X style forms fine and refined scrollwork. In the middle, a superb new green leather is decorated with a cold sticker and a gold sticker. An original side hook lock accompanied by its key in working order, allows the discovery of a functional storage space. This one, in light wood, also has four small niches. At the top, a compartment with a knockout front and surround has a slightly domed lid, inlaid with nets and a plant-inspired composition. An original double hook lock allows you to close this storage space.
The Davenport, once appreciated in England by the Royal Navy, particularly for its multifunctional appearance, can today also be chosen as a small piece of ceremonial furniture.
