Secretary 'Return from Egypt', in Mahogany Burl veneer, with a Dark Grey marble top discreetly shaded with Black and White.
It has a high drawer with a rounded and modestly molded front.
Underneath, this Secretary offers a flap with four symmetrical veneer leaves. It reveals a Tabernacle composed of a Niche, embellished by a panel cut out in Arch and Dummy Columns. This Theater also offers seven drawers of various capacities, the last of which has a secret opening. The work space, solidly held horizontally by a pair of Straight Compasses, is covered with Green Leather, with a Central Vignette and Golden Frieze.
In the lower part, this piece of furniture opens with two doors. They shelter three other drawers, arranged on three rows and assembled in Tails of Arondes.
This Secretary is provided with its two recent keys, adjusted to the Generous Original lock entries, all in finely worked Brass. Note the Reliability of the Locks, with double hook points for the flap, top and bottom for the right door.
The front jambs are in sheathed Pilasters. They are surmounted by Egyptian Bustes with Nemes headdresses, and finished by chiseled Bronze Rings.
The set rests in front on two Blackened Wood claw feet and in the back on two straight feet.
The inside of the drawers and the bottom of the cabinet are in Oak.
We will take pleasure to install its universe of Work in this Secretary Bicentennial with the interesting plurality of arrangements. Everything within reach but out of sight, everything impeccably ordered but totally hidden.
