Secretaire in rosewood veneer surmounted by a marble "Sainte Anne des Pyrénées", grooved, and period.
This unique piece of furniture opens with a flap, a drawer in the upper part and three identical ones in the lower part. Each is provided with an original functional lock, a chiseled bronze entry and a posterior key. The facades, in rosewood veneer arranged in a fan, are embellished with green-tinted wood fillets, boxwood and mahogany surrounds.
The sides, in the same spirit, have two panels surrounded by stained wooden nets.
The flap opens onto a storage space made up of four small drawers and a niche, topped with two compartments and furnished with a mirror. The writing part offers red leather, with golden vignette and cold edging. This flap is held by iron hooks and brass plates.
The uprights and legs with canted sides are veneered horizontally and adorned with scraps of bronze.
Note the presence of dust seals on the drawers.
This three-hundred-year-old secretaire will appeal in particular for its dimensions and refined lines.
