Louis XV Period Marquetry Secretary Stamped

circa 1750


Superb Louis XV period Secretary in Marquetry with Geometrical Decorations and Greek Fillets, Rosewood, Walnut, Olive, Norci Wood Frames.

Its Stiles with Cut Sides Ending in Curved Feet and Golden Bronze Sabots. It is topped with Grey Veined Marble.

It opens with a drawer, two leaves and a front panel, revealing niches and four small drawers, as well as a writing tablet trimmed with gilded green leather.

Ornamentation in gilded bronze, such as clogs and lock escutcheons. Has its own key, the locks work. Jean-François Hache stamp on upright.

Rare piece of furniture of very fine craftsmanship, superb wood species.
