Magnificent “Tombeau” chest of drawers made by a Parisian master cabinetmaker, in rosewood, amaranth, mahogany and lemon tree, embellished with bronze ornaments and topped with a thick gray Belgian Sainte Anne marble. This original marble, surrounded by a corbin beak, perfectly matches the shapes of the furniture.
This chest of drawers has two high drawers whose curved front is inlaid, at both ends, with rosewood arranged in a frieze, surrounded by a lemon tree fillet with concave angles, and framed by an amaranth rim. On each side, large original pull handles in sculpted bronze are accompanied by a foliated keyhole in original bronze as well. The key, after the 18th century, is in working order.
On each side, potbellied amaranth veneered legs are decorated with a bronze drop in the upper part and a bronze clog in the lower part.
Under the drawers, an animated crosspiece is embellished with a beautiful gilded bronze trim.
The sides of this dresser feature a mahogany veneer center, arranged in butterfly wings, surrounded by lemon tree netting.
The bottoms and sides of the drawers as well as the back of the chest of drawers are in oak. We find a dust cover between the drawers.
Refined and elegant, this Parisian quality chest of drawers will delight you with its gilt bronze ornamentation with foliage decoration, its sinuous shapes and its small size.
