Three-drawer chest of drawers in rosewood, mahogany and various woods, topped with Aleppo Breche marble.
The first of these drawers, at the top, has a protruding front with a mahogany surround inlaid with a staggered composition of lemon and ebony.
The second and third drawers, which are deeper, feature an inlaid composition of lemongrass and ebony with Greek angles. The crosspiece is concealed to ensure continuity of motif between the two fronts.
Each drawer is fitted with two scalloped pull handles, original chased mascarons, a brass banded escutcheon and an authentic functional lock with later key.
The piece is embellished with an acanthus leaf motif and a tureen.
The jambs are beautifully set off by three double fillets of lemon and amaranth with bronze falls and sabots on curved feet.
The slightly concave projecting sides are similarly carved, with identical geometric motifs.
This chest of drawers is particularly interesting for its lines, its dimensionality and the warm tones of its wood species.
