Regency period Ile de France chest of drawers. Early 18th century. In walnut and oak relacquered in matt black. Top painted in faux marble (Griotte rouge from Belgium). This chest has five drawers on three rows. The front is slightly curved. The sides are straight and panelled "en chapelle". The drawer fronts are embellished with molded reserves. The front jambs are rounded and feature two flutes. The top is molded with a spout. The lower front crosspiece is scalloped. The four locks are original but without keys. The woodwork is in oak.
