Elegant small Regence commode, stamped N B for Nicolas Berthelmi, ébé "niste reçu maitre en 1735, this is a Parisian work, which could also be attributed to Etienne Doirat, in violet wood veneer.
This N B mark was attributed to a cabinetmaker by the name of Nicolas Bernard and was also affixed to rich Regency commodes.
Our chest of drawers is presented in "good" condition, opening with 4 drawers, two of which are on the first row, the uprights are slightly pinched at the front, with bronze trim and a fine-quality veined royal red margre top (an old small accident on the back left).
