Piece of furniture in two elements, composed in the lower part of a chest of drawers whose moving front is richly ornamented. Three drawers of different heights are decorated with marquetry on a developed mahogany veneer background. On each drawer, an important symmetrical composition of light wood forms foliage, foliage and flowers. This set is surrounded by two nets of lemon tree.
The pull is done using drooping brass handles with openwork plate, composed of scrolls and foliage.
In the center of each drawer, a large, finely sculpted entrance underlines the passage of the key (rear) operating the original lock, in working order. This chest of drawers is equipped in the lower part with an ornate crosspiece embellished with a sculpture depicting an antique profile in a medallion. The set rests on two blackened claw feet at the front.
The upper part is made up of a glass door on the front, the frame of which is encrusted with a string of flowers. On each side, the uprights with cut sides, the top of which is in the shape of a basket handle, inlaid with plant motifs. Inside, we find two blackened wooden shelves like the back and the bottom. This high element rests on a slightly curved projecting base and is topped with a gendarme's hat cornice with an inlaid hollow part, a projecting return and an inlaid concave part.
This rare piece of furniture is in excellent condition after restoration in our workshop. However it should be noted a central crack on each side of the chest of drawers. Testimony of time and guarantee of authenticity, these marks remain visible.
