Charming pair of small chests of drawers, known as commodes d'entre deux, are in the Regency style and are made of antique wood dating from the 18th century, as evidenced by the frame, drawers, and veneers used. The bronze ornamentation is also ancient.
The front of each chest of drawers is slightly curved in plan, with rounded front uprights and straight sides. Each chest of drawers opens with three drawers with drop handles on gadrooned rosettes.
The fronts and sides are covered with rosewood veneer in a frieze pattern, as was found during the Regency period.
The frame of the furniture is made of softwood, the drawers are mounted in walnut, with the exception of the fronts, which are made of softwood. This wood composition corresponds to the style of Parisian cabinetmakers during the Regency and early Louis XV periods.
Both pieces of furniture are topped with a marble molded with a corbin bec.
Interesting pieces of furniture because they are so rare to find from this period, they can perfectly blend in with antique furniture thanks to their construction made of old wood. Finally, their small size makes them easy to place. They can be used as bedside tables, end tables, or to create symmetries on either side of doors or windows.
The manufacture of this piece of furniture cannot be dated; they could very well have been made in the 19th century or the 20th century.
Both pieces of furniture are in very good condition.
