Marquetry chest of drawers after a model by Jean-Henri RIESENER (1734-1806) received Master in 1768 and furniture cabinetmaker
of the Crown. This model was delivered to Versailles, Riesener was Marie Antoinette's favorite cabinetmaker. This Oeben student adopts
the rectilinear shapes of the Louis XVI style while retaining certain curves reminiscent of the Louis XV style. The marquetry is
geometric and the decor is composed of flowers and fruits in a basket, a vase and a large ewer. Great wealth of
gilded bronzes. The top is in marble, three small drawers under it and two large drawers in the lower part.
This order was carried out in the second half of the 20th century. Very high quality cabinetmaking.
