Scriban chest of drawers, in solid yellow and red mahogany, coming from Saint-Martin and Cuba respectively.
This La Rochelle port piece of furniture opens with two identical drawers. They each have beaded drop oval handles with mascarons and a embossed brass entry with original lock with fitted posterior key.
This piece of furniture also offers two upper, smaller drawers, also equipped with entrances, locks with keys and separated by a false drawer.
The rounded uprights, with fixed grooves, end in small humped crowbars.
The lower crosspiece is thin and cut.
The surface-mounted flap, with a single-panel, miter-cut frame, is fitted with a bronze entrance and a two-comb lock with fitted bronze key.
This flap opens on brass hinges and remains open, slightly raised on the supporting part, by iron hooks
The writing part is covered in redone leather, oxblood color, with gold vignette, cold vignette, corner and central motifs.
The interior has two parts of three tiered drawers, with a solid mahogany front, decorated with brass buttons.
In the center, a space hides a secret reserve under a sliding plate.
Construction and types of wood that make up the furniture: dust covers between the drawers, dovetail assembly of the drawers,
Drawers: presence of dust covers, dovetail assembly, beech sides and oak bottom
    Back of oak furniture.
Mahogany from Saint-Martin: two low drawers, flap, low and high side panels.
Cuban mahogany: top of the cabinet, feet, high drawers, false drawer, intermediate crossbars and low crossbars.
You will remain under the spell of our 300-year-old Scriban chest of drawers with the elegance of its lines and its sobriety.
