Mahogany half-moon commode with White Carrara marble top Louis XVI period circa 1780

 

An elegant little mahogany and mahogany veneered half-moon chest of drawers. It opens with three drawers on the front and mahogany shelves on the sides, encircled by openwork ormolu brackets. White veined marble top set in an openwork ormolu gallery.

The front of the commode features fluted uprights decorated with ormolu rings, ending in small tapered feet with ormolu fluting and sabots.

 

Fine Parisian work of the Louis XVI period, circa 1780.
