Large and beautiful Louis XV period chest of drawers, well curved on the front and on the sides, this chest of drawers is an interesting regional cabinetmaking work.
The piece of furniture opens with 2 drawers on the front, built on a frame in softwood and walnut, it is inlaid on a walnut frieze background with different varieties of blooming flowers accompanied by their branches and foliage, these motifs that we find on the front and on the sides are placed in frames of very lively scrolls.
The cabinetmaker who carefully made this piece of furniture used only native woods such as walnut, maple, boxwood, plum and green-tinted maple to bring out stems, leaves and flower petals.
The chest of drawers is topped with its original marble top, presenting an old restoration at the front right corner, this marble is a beautiful turquoise blue, molded around the edge.
This chest of drawers is in a very good state of conservation with all of its original frame, note that the lock of the bottom drawer is missing, all of the ornamental bronzes are original, this piece of furniture is offered to you in a very good condition, with a French polish highlighting the grain and colors of the wood.
Due to its design and its veneer work, this chest of drawers is a regional work from the Louis XV period to be placed in the 1760s, the shape of the piece of furniture and especially the work of the framing scrolls recalls the cabinetmaking of the East of France, with equivalents in the Dauphiné but also in the Doubs with the city of Montbéliard.
