It is topped with gray marble from the Sainte Anne quarries, with grooves and protrusions that follow the lines of the chest.

Fidelys Schey was awarded the title of Master on February 5, 1777. Born in the Duchy of Baden, this prolific cabinetmaker, despite the relative brevity of his career (he died on July 28, 1788), established himself on rue de Faubourg Saint-Antoine and opened a sales store next to his workshop, which he entrusted to his wife. His production included Transition and, above all, Louis XVI furniture. In 1786, he supplied gaming tables for the Château de Fontainebleau.
