Elegant Louis XV chest of drawers in rosewood and amaranth marquetry.
Slim silhouette with small arched feet,
The frame is in oak and the drawers in resin.
It opens to 5 drawers on 3 rows.
The marquetry is of fine quality and thickness.
Very fine set of chased and gilded bronzes, including drawer handles, escutcheons, chutes and sabots.
The parquet floor is topped with 3 cm thick antique red marble, formerly restored.
Stamped 2 times on the crosspiece and front right jamb with Jurande mark (JME).

Jean Charles ELLAUME:
Awarded the title of Master on November 6, 1754, he opened his workshop on rue Traversière where, for 30 years, he produced quality furniture, notably commodes and flat desks, mostly in the Louis XV style, all in rosewood or violet veneer framed with rosewood or amaranth.
The bronze ornamentation is elegant and finely chiseled.
ELLAUME was considered an excellent cabinetmaker in his day.
